Depending on the age of the equipment dedicated to cutting the metal structure, there will be important technological limitations. The costs of modernizing factories are very high in Europe. Very few companies are capable of cutting a wide range of metal profiles, with a width range of 89-300 mm. Most players in the market still use classic equipment, with fixed cutting capabilities: 89 mm or 140 mm. Typically, two problems arise:
-> due to the exclusive use of fixed width profiles as a technological limitation, resistance projects may include both lightweight and heavy metal structures - obviously, the additional necessary costs will be reflected in the construction price.
-> Only the latest generation of equipment can automatically cold drill profiles, that is, to make the holes for electrical and thermal installations through walls. Older equipment is not capable - in practice, the profiles must be cut at hot in the construction site and the affected area is treated with anti-corrosive spray. Many builders hide this aspect until the phase of installation of thermal routes.
